Ten years ago TE travelers visited Paris to celebrate the Millennium. It was a trip of a lifetime seeing Paris at the turn of the new century. We know we can’t push the clock back but we will be going to Paris for the New Year’s week again. One hotel will be used for this trip providing an opportunity to explore Paris during the most beautiful time of the year. The city is exquisitely decorated and travelers will have the opportunity to see why Paris is called the “City of Lights” during the holiday season.

The price of the trip includes RT air, hotel, breakfasts daily, included city tour, 6 day metro pass and 4 day museum pass. There will also be an included New Years Eve dinner. All taxes and tips are included as of the time of printing.

This special trip will give participants the opportunity to explore Paris in depth. Using only one hotel will make it easy to visit the most important sights. Included is an orientation city tour with a local guide to show us the major sights.

Sightseeing in Paris is like plunging into ancient history: remains of the old Roman Lutetia, grand medieval abbeys, gothic masterpieces, classical architecture, collections from Napoleonic times, perspectives defined by Haussmann… A remarkable density of artistic and cultural treasures to choose from at each visit! 180 museums and monuments for your enjoyment: discover internationally-renowned collections of paintings, sculpture and decorative arts, go in search of iconic emblems, symbols of the influence of an era, take inspiration from a wealth of contemporary heritage – all this makes Paris a capital of the arts, both past and present.

The included 6 day metro pass/bus pass will make it easy to get around. There are so many wonderful neighborhoods and places to explore. The 4 day museum pass will make you a VIP in the city. With the pass one can avoid the long lines and save precious time. Most museums and monuments can be visited free with the pass. Some of these include: The Louvre, Musee d' Orsay, Musee Rodin, Musee Picasso, Sainte-Chapelle, Tombeau de Napoleon, Musee National de l’Orangerie, the Arc de Triomphe, and most other monuments and museums in the city. The pass will also provide entrance to other sights in the Paris Region including Versailles, Fontainebleau, Chateau de Rambouillet. The full list will be provided with the pass to all going on this trip. Using the pass and avoiding lines will allow you use your time more productively.

Visiting Paris during the holiday season provides a great opportunity to see some of the most beautiful holiday decorations in the world. Stores and boulevards are wonderfully decorated, people are in a festive mood and the city becomes even more alive. Walking down the Champs Elysees during the holiday towards the Place de la Concord one may find the wonderful holiday market with all kinds of special things to buy. Other shopping opportunities abound all over Paris. One can visit the famous department stores or find interesting things at the many markets. This trip provides a perfect chance to explore Paris your way.

The TE will provide material and suggestions on what to see and how to get around. We will also make restaurant suggestions in places where the locals dine. Our goal for this trip is to get you to know and explore the real Paris in depth.
